    Thailand: Once Upon A Time

    Thailand: Once Upon A Time

After a very long time, I returned to Thailand in July. While the pictures are still "in processing" and soon coming - please enjoy a short video that I made from my holiday.... I have a lot to learn when it comes to creating something memorable, this is all shot with the EOS5D.

Amazing! And i had a feeling that someone was showing his new home. And were frightened about your health seeing you in these river areas. And... have to think about it - lots of impressions. And thank you for sharing.

Not new - but rather not visited for a very long time.

Yes, the mosquitoes and the dengue was on my mind all the time.... a calculated risk I suppose. I should have been a risk-analyst.

Anyway, thank you very much Ralf.

Did you see this bridge in my film, the one I mentioned at the beginning of this thread... it was destroyed but a new temporary one ha been built besides:

Had this happened in Norway, a new bridge would perhaps be years away.... (?)

I looked at part of your vimeo a week or so ago, Jan-Olav, but have now gone back to see it right the way through. It is a kaleidoscope of colour and scenery. Thank you.
From what I read above I see that the worst season for the disease-carrying mosquito finishes in September, but certainly that does not mean that the danger of catching dengue fever is over. You must take great care while you are there.

Not entirely sure if I should share the images from my three trips to Thailand this year: I mean here, or shall I create a page on the mainpage (my homepage)?....

I have taken a lot of images, about 7-800 images, and they are all ready (as in processed), and I have already shared them on another photography forum.....

While I decide, here is a short film clip I did on the second trip.... and that I completely forgot about. How embarrassing is that?

..... seems like vimeo website is not up at the moment.... will revert with the link shortly.

In the meanwhile, you can read about the video in my blog on the homepage also.

Just post them wherever it is easiest for you and where they will display ok ...…just as long as I can see them! I want to see them! ALL of them!

I tell you what, you post your Thailand photos somewhere where I can see them, and as soon as I’ve finished my Fram trip and before next October’s Serenissima trip I’ll post the rest of my Thailand photos so you can see them - DEAL?

(Yes I still have some un-posted Thailand photos from trips 1 and 2 …...and it might even get more complicated… )

Thank you very much - I think I might post them here, but it will only be the general category one's.

Private images won't be shared as I see it now.

Let's start, so that I can cross this story off my list as well. As you all know, I love taking pictures in a very special way - almost of everything that I see, and because I have problems selecting the highlight images, you get the (almost) full story. That is all, apart from the private shots and those that I clearly do not want to share.

Sit back, and hopefully enjoy this report.... there'll be nearly 300 images, so make sure you have something to drink before starting....

The flight to Thailand was with Lufthansa, and in danger of insulting some people, but this is an airline I most likely will not use again. The service was OK, the flight was OK, on time, and all that at a reasonable price, but it lacked completely the "sash", and an episode on the trip back to Norway really threw me off from ever wanting to fly with them ever again (more about that at the end).

With an extremely hectic program timed almost to the last hour, there was a huge amount of things that was going to be done during this visit.... a lot of personal character and a lot of pleasure, together with happy reunification with lots of friends. The first 11 days after arriving, not a single image was taken .... I have some taken by others, but that won't be displayed here.

12 days on, finally back in Bangkok.... my old apartment in Bangkok and the view I used to have for so many years, though, it has slightly changed:

Then, it was time to visit my property in Hua Hin..... my goodness, it was so good to be back again! Almost surreal and totally unbelievable.... what an experience to drive in through the gates and into the privately owned street, and then in through my own private gate to my own private paradise.
