I'm enjoying every photograph... keep them coming... I love Bangkok... never boring... even after 10 years I still find it exciting.

I was in Bangkok for merely two days compared to Haakon’s ten years! –but I often think I seemed to have acquired extra senses, so much did I absorb during that brief time.
Certainly I am able to appreciate the changes that have taken place over the period that pakarang’s photographs so magnificently document. The thought occurs to me, looking at those views from above, that we are fortunate that he seems to have lived in quite so many apartments around the city!

(And this Friday’s child also appreciated the blue of the Queen’s Flag.)

Nice catch of a proper Bangkok lightening!

Which is the tall building in the middle there? I do not remember it at all.

Pakarang; it's Taiping Tower. Supposedly the first condo in Bangkok.

Took my a long while to realize that.... I always remembered them as twin towers, and after a whole lot of looking, I realized the second tower is hidden behind the first one.

According to my vague memory, Sukhumwith 63 would then be between you and Thai Ping Tower, while Thong Lor 20/ Ekkamai 21 would be on the left, and Soi Rong Phim Kong Salak would be on the right.... am I right?

You are correct. I'm in Thonglor 20, almost opposite of where you turn into Soi Wat Pasee.

It's amazing how much I tend to forget when I do not have to navigate through all the streets and side-soi's any longer.

As it looks at the moment I won't be calling Bangkok my home for much longer. I'll keep my condo but will work on another continent and probably only visit Thailand once a year or so. After 12 years it will be sad to leave and probably hard to adapt to life in the western world. When everything is a bit more official I'll let you know were I'm going

You have my full understanding that this is a very hard thing to do.... believe me, I know. If there is anything I can do to be of service, do not hesitate to let me know.

Keeping your condo is a wise thing to do!

I can almost see my old apartment in the background, this is MY area of Bangkok - and it has changed so much... despite the artist rendering forgetting a lot of the things in the area (bridge fly over, cars and so on....)
