From the shoebox: Old images from Thailand

From the shoebox: Old images from Thailand

In my own collection, I have a lot of old images from Bangkok which I think is so cool. They are especially cool when you know how that very same area looks like today... and can see what is left, and what has changed.

Otherwise, they are historical images which tell tales of a time long ago...

An old tram downtown: both buildings in the background still stands today:

Although I've never been close to Bankok, I find the images interesting.
Specially the images of post #9 and #10.
Didn't we have some sort of a 'before/now' thread in the old forum also...?

I agree... looking at old photographs of Siam (and Thailand) is quite interesting, because I feel that nowhere else, has there been more of a dramatic change when it comes to traffic, people... yet, we can still see a lot of the same markers (buildings) from before.

This also goes for Singapore for example.

Indeed Sterkoder, we had such a tread before as well, though slightly underused...
