Documentation of an old trip to the Railway Museum at Chatuchak in Bangkok, a visit which I did back on January 20th 2008... just more than two years ago:

The images at the old forum has vanished, so I will restore all these images again. So far nobody haven't missed them yet, but that might just be because they didn't even know about the Thailand section of CaptainsVoyage Forum.

This is the railway museum at Chatujak in Bangkok:

….Oh yes somebody did….but I was too sad to talk about it….
But tonight, such joy at seeing all these wonderful threads brought back to life.

I can hardly wait until later during the next few days when I’ll be back with time to look at all these wonderful threads. Thank you so very much pakarang.
Inadequate words, until I get to thank you by continuing to post my own images, which would never have come into existence if there hadn’t been your Thailand section on old forum…because that’s what took me there….

Thank you so very much for your kind words.

It might not have been one of the most important sections of CVF to "restore" based on the activity within here, but for me, this section means more to me than anyone is able to understand. The images in this section were all taken during the probably happiest times of my life - no doubt. Not a day goes by without me terribly missing all that I had there: friends, car, life, work, scenery, climate.... and food, just to mention a few of the things.

Norway is so very different: so very different. Thailand is probably much closer to my heart than Norway. It is probably best explained with the expression one of my best friends once told me:

        คุณไทยในหัวใจ คุณนอร์เวย์โดยอุบัติเหตุ

Thai in heart - Norwegian by accident.

Before going to the railway museum, I had lunch in the park with a friend. The park at Chatuchak in HDR:

After a nice lunch under the trees, we made our way to the railway museum where the entrance was free.

Here is from the exhibition there: one of the trams operating in Bangkok a long time ago:

In the museum, there are also a lot of other interesting things on display, things that are no longer in use:
