  • Beautiful.... the white hills and the red sky, combined with the glass-calm waters makes it a terrific image. To me it gives a sense of hope: hope for warmer weather and beautiful months ahead.

      • This is the local fox that is almost as tame as a dog
The fox roam the area and it has been fed for a long time, although authorities in the city have gone out into the media and said that people must stop feeding the fox.

The problem is that the fox is so tame that it goes to people in the hope that they have a treat or two.
The government has certainly taken steps since we have not seen the fox in the past two months.

        • Beautiful photo of a beautiful animal...

Believe it or not, but last night when I was heading to nightwatch, a fox crossed right in front of my car near Sluppen bridge.... that was the very first time I had ever seen a fox that near to the city center. It happened so fast, and at first I thought it was a cat... but the tale gave the fox away. As far as I can recollect the short 2 seconds I saw it bounce across the road, it looked silverish in color... it could just have been the light from my car shining on it's fur.

          • The Cable Car reopened in April 2016 after a major upgrade. The NOK 68 million investment included new gondolas and machinery, an expansion to the panorama terrace and a new wheel chair lift.
The trip up takes just four minutes.

            A few pictures from yesterday.

            • So happy that someone saw the necessity to upgrade and invest that amount of money in the cable car... this is definitely something I want to do when I come back to Tromsø some time in the future.

              • Since I do not have any camera equipment at the time, here is a picture via Tromsø harbor webcam this afternoon.

Thank you so much for catching that Bengt. Three ships all with a following here among the forum members. And all together right in your city - even the webcam labels its livestream "Sentrum".

              • It was only one cruise ship in Tromsø today so there was plenty of space for tourists on Fjellheisen today.

                • On my next visit to Tromsø, I sure will make the trip to the mountain with the "Fjellheisen"..... It's been years already since my last visit up there, perhaps I will have to make a trip later this month?

That webcam view is great too: three of my most favourite ships in one single shot!

                  • Cloudy today, but the weather forecast for the coming week indicates summer temperatures between 15-18 degrees.
So the fall will have to wait a little longer.

Pleased to see these photos - I had been wondering what the wreck looked like these days.

                        • Thank you Seagull for your comment.
Oh yes, the wreck still keeps its position so far.
