Then to another place at the other side of the city... the border between Nardo and Risvollan, starting with the church at Hoeggen (Hoeggen Kirke)... during a cold, dark winter night.

I thought it was kind of cool to see the difference between LED and old-type street lights...

This is Sollia residential area... with Nardo Centre (Nardosentret) nearly in the middle of the image:

Another day - another walk - and another flight: this time; went for a walk in the area around Møllenberg... (close to Solsiden in case I needed to find a place to drink coffee)

The last two there, is that the old graving docks at Trondhjem Mek. Verksted??

It might be sounding like bragging, but these images are amongst my absolutely favourite images taken - EVER!

As a closing image - Solsiden (the sunny side)... the former location of a shipyard now turned into a shopping mall and entertainment/restaurant area... probably the most popular in town:

                  This looks very Scandinavian.
#1349:1 includes some very nice contrasts between the sea and the snow.

OMG, that drone really is a quality piece of kit!

WOW.What a nice walk. It worth to get up early.

Thank you all very much Clipper, Tommi, Seagull, Ralf and yvneac!

Yes, this drone is a wonderful piece of engineering. I find it hard to believe the quality of such a tiny camera with such a tiny sensor.

Now, with rumours of an imminent version 2 of my drone, I hope and pray for a 20 Mp camera and an 1" sensor. That would be taking the pictures up a notch again.

Comment on Blog update of 2018-Mar-16: Kristiansten Festning

Pakarang - I started to type a draft reply to this blog update before I realised there wasn't a link encouraging a comment or response, but, having started, I hope the following is worth posting here in your Trondheim thread.

The moment I saw your photos of the sculptures in the blog I remembered I'd seen something like that girl before, and was sure I'd made a "looks interesting" note somewhere. I couldn't immediately find it though. One of the reasons why I can seem so slow is because I'm incapable of just going on to the next thing if something is still niggling me. (Not always a bad thing - I've succeeded in so much by not letting anyone educate my supposed 'faults' out of me!).
So, persevering, it turned out that I'd filed it under Oslo and not Trondheim, the picture I'd seen having featured in an exhibition of the work of a British sculptor, Laura Ford, at Oslo's Akershus. Perhaps it is a travelling exhibition, or one split between similar venues simultaneously? Note the fortress connection.

As a 'futility of war' statement the sculpture is unusual to say the least, and I like any kind of art that is ambiguous, or thought-provokingly open to interpretation, personal to each individual onlooker.
She seems real, yet to me there is something unsettlingly 'Alice in Wonderland' about her. Is she really grief-stricken, helpless and frightened, or is it just a bizarre game of hide and seek? Perhaps she's simply 'playing up' and attention seeking. Surely not a set up to rob a sympathetic passer-by ...or...

Were she real you might well have hesitated, then gone back to your car first to get a warm blanket you had there, returned to find the girl gone, started to doubt your own senses, begin to believe in ghosts. There was something a bit spooky and scarey about her, wasn't there?

My favourite sculpture is the birdman. Naturally one thinks of the Icarus legend. But of course it is impossible for me not to have a personal response! Even if her wings work, this lady-c-gull is unlikely to make stunning images like pakarang's drone. Her eyes seem unseeing, covered with feathers like the girl's with her hair.
And then there are the shoes. Or are the bird's not velcro-fastening shoes but shackles, preventing flight and total escape from the fortress?
Although the girl's are a lighter colour, my shoes do seem to resemble those in the sculptures!

My other shoes are hiking boots, as are those of the original wooden seagull of my avatar in Helsinki.
So I should maybe plan a very personal sculpture tour of Helsinki and Trondheim this summer!

I think I read somewhere that this was indeed a "travelling display"... and the it was limited in time. It had something to do with the beautification of Norwegian fortifications making them appeal to a wider crowd.

I liked the girl in the doorway: I was actually startled when I saw here because I hadn't notice it going the other way. It was almost like there she was, while a moment ago, she wasn't.
