At Ravnkloa, the city's fish market, because of the changing of times, and great un-employment amongst Vikings, the "Last Viking" is now working as a traffic controller.

While time is still changing and moving forward....

Finally, you can see that this is an old city by the sheer number of chimneys in one single shot!

Did you really mean "old" city, or should it read cold city?

Nice one... even though we haven't had really "cold" weather yet, but I guess when snow arrives, thoe days will also be plentyful.

Fachinating to see all those details, and the "being there feeling" in 1174/5.

Thank you very much for commenting, Tommi, and thank you so much for your encouragement.

Love the clocks and spires, and now (as an Edinburgh resident) I'm giggling about those "sheer number of chimneys in one single shot" - maybe this is the start of a Seagull photo assignment!

Great idea.... I think I can get a shot with a lot more chimneys than this one, but I think I might have to work a bit on it. Challenge?

YES, challenge on! Though I’ll need some time too – but it’s definitely a deal!

I shall watch this contest most carefully - have a clean sheet of paper ready for the count.

These images were all taken back in November, when the city was supposed to be all-white in snow, but so far this year, we are still looking for the white blanket to be properly laid.

Very nice pictures of a beautiful city you present to us, J-O. And lucky you, just caught a meteor (stjerneskudd) during your exposure :-)

                        Dear reader(s)...

Can I be frank with you, may I be completely honest for a tiny moment?

I have to admit that I do get really jealous sometimes, when reading the local newspaper about images taken in Trondheim, which goes viral and completely "takes off" on the world wide web.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong because none of my images seems to stir up any kind of storm, not even a breeze or a tiny fart. Naturally, the images could not be good enough, or this Trondheim-thread may not be clicked on sufficeiently or known in the world. Perhaps Twitter would be a better place to market some images?

Annnnnyyyyyyhooooooooooowwwww..... here are some images taken of the absolutely stunning Nidarosdomen Cathedral in Trondheim. I had some free time available when I overheard a comment about a particular statue at the dome. This gave me the idea to make a trip to town for one single purpose only. Here are the images - in detail:

As a comment to your comment on Trondheim-images traveling around the world:
We have a "photographer" here in my town, who in my eyes is more of a picture editor than a true photographer.
None of his pictures are straight from his Canon 5D, they are all twisted in PS and it looks like he moved all of the controls to the right.
His picture side by side with one of mine (where I try to do as much work as possible with my Pentax), who's got the standing ovation???

Him, of course. With his twisted and beyond natural edited picture, he can get hundreds of likes and comments, WOWs and BREATHLESS comments.
Can you understand why Photoshopped pictures to the extreme are the most popular among "none" photographers?

I say to you; stay with what you belive in and take pictures like you've always done. It was you who teached me the basics and understanding of observation (wether you belive it or not).

I know I will continue my work to get better with my photography, because I find no satisfaction in being an editor. Photography and camera handling is my kind of style, so keep up your good work, my friend Jan-Olav. Even if I don't comment, I enjoy your work!
