Thank you very much, Lady C.

I do post a lot occationally, to the great frustration of some...

Normally, when I come across a website or webpage that I think others may find interesting, I keep the link in an own folder till I find time to get online and actually share it).

Maybe all a waste of time to most of you, but I do know Lady C enjoys it. And that makes the extra work worth it I guess.

Lady C most definitely does, and appreciated your affectionate and kind 'thank-you-post' as much as the links themselves.

As well as my list of things to look at when I have appropriate time, I'm now better organised with such an 'own folder' as you mention. Prior to this, I seem to have mislaid a link about a Thai festival-type event in Tromsø! - I’d been intending to say wouldn't it have been good if it had been in Trondheim! Anyway, here is another, entirely off-topic, link I had saved for you - perhaps you already saw it in the Bangkok Post, but I felt the combination of old buildings, architecture and cinema was rather ‘you’.

Well that's some pricetag but I think the stills I saw from Drone Albert are just as impressive - the ones looking down on the old bridge, stunning views of the cathedral, Nidelven and of Erkebispegården. Just been having a look at them again. Make that MORE impressive and just as professional.

The thing most in my mind when looking at this video link was worrying about the drone running into Olaf Tryggvason, crashing in Torget, and thus causing a ban on such flights that would deprive me of your ever-impressive 'seagull-eye views'.

That is exactly my fears as well. And the always very one-sided negative aspect of these "toys" in the media - not only in Norway, but in many countries around the world.

BTW, Albert has been retired and now lives at Molde.... the new replacement hasn't recieved it's name yet, so it's just "temporarily" known as A2.

Why not call your new one Igor (as the "inventor" of modern helicopter) or Chuck (after a great pilot) ?
Anyway, I'm not totally impressed up to 100% of the technical result of that video. I'm just as pleased, or perhaps more, about your videos...., at a cost a lot less :-)

Anyway, these airborne "things" has a great potential, and I can't at this stage, think of much negative.

My little "dream" of a short video would be if one could fly with, and around, a hurtigrute from..., let's say Stavneset lighthouse, and under Sørsundet bridge and into Kristiansund harbour.
Nice weather, good relaxing music and viewed in HD...., mmmmmm, nice, I would think.

Putting a link to a Norwegian video on an English forum might not be the smartest thing to do, nor do I believe links have the same effect shared here than coming across it yourself.

                BUT.

                There is always a "BUT".

This story about Nidarosdomen - the largest medieval cathedral in Northern Europe - is something I had never heard about. There are a couple of "secret" rooms that haven't been opened for many years - right in front of your eyes, which you may never have seen or noticed.

I know Lady C might be able to follow the story, and understand the excitement, but I also think that all of you might understand and see what I'm talking about.

That was a really interesting thing to learn about I think.

Additionally, we have also gotten a new set of wooden stairs down to "bryggerekka" - the row of dock-houses. The sad thing is that it's only a temporary initiative and will be removed again within this autumn.

I truly hope you enjoyed the two previous articles (posts), and the following "impressions" from the beautiful city of Trondheim:

                    - and not as old as the famous dock-houses, but still a well known place along the riverbanks:

I certainly was very interested in those closed up spaces in the cathedral. Things like that have always fascinated me.

I liked the link to the wooden steps article too, and although actually just a temporary "exhibit", I started thinking what about if several generations of design students had the opportunity to present their ideas as part of their coursework, and maybe other winning designs got constructed. And perhaps former ones sold to be reconstructed more permanently elsewhere with appropriate modifications for other locations, and the money used to fund construction of subsequent projects.

And thanks for also posting those latest photo ...sunshine city!

In regards to those wooden stairs in Kjøpmannsgata, a lot of people - especially those that are challenged in their walking -, these stairs are a true blessing.

In the winter, that slope is terribly slippery and very hard to navigate for even young and agile pedestrians.

If only the local politicians could get out of their nice comfy office chairs and see what great benefit stairs would have here....

Dear readers.... I hope you don't mind me bringing in some new images from Trondheim taken earlier this year.

I guess you don't have a choice.... well, choice you have: head for the next thread.

Thinking it is OK for me to share more, here are some more from about the same time.

The light changed rapidly on these days.... early summer can be such a blessing when we emerge out from a cold, long and dark winter.
