Thank you Sterkoder (and the Mocca was great too).

I was so frozen by this time: -8 degrees and a long walk, I needed a break from the cold.

I always feel …what shall I say…lovingly moved by your kindness and consideration that somehow seems exemplified in feeding the duckies….. and seeing this image #727/1 makes me want to give you a warm hug for being you.

I love the pale purply tone, and against it just those bright luminous green heads and yellow bills, …and that curve of the rippled water.

I was so entranced by that first image of the river that I didn’t get round to mentioning anything else in that last post. So here I am again...

Ummm I can see that I am going to be annoying…
The quick answer is 2, the tripod one …and I do like the sheen of the water …but I like the rippled water too.
So I think the real reason I said 2 is not the water, or anything to do with differences in sharpness and the colour of the bridge, but is a composition thing –the inclusion of the lower red warehouse building on the left, and the exclusion of the floating moorings seen under the red bridge on the right.
IDEALLY (I warned you I was going to be annoying!) I’m thinking water and bridge red colour as in image 1 but with framing as in 2.

                      Well, you DID ask!!!!

So many special images …I kind of identify with the solitary figure in the snow in #727/2.

On a day without strong shadows, the excellence of the cathedral detail is in the framing. I spent ages looking at it (even getting out my book about the sculptures on the west front to remind myself of the context) and am totally in awe of your skill in exactly what you chose to include.

Choca Boco in Solsiden looks oh so cosy with the terrace lighting. I imagine sitting on the sofa for a moment, but if it’s too cold I’ll head for that corner we like inside!

The figures on the footbridge…perfect, and I like the blue/creamy gold colours in that one.
Looking at the Nova theatre and the Britannia Hotel, and the other buildings and streetscapes around Torvet, I thought they were all so distinctively “your style” in various ways, though it isn’t always easy to explain why. It had me looking back at other of your building images…see you totally took over my day today…

If I have to choose from the Kuhaugen views, it will be the lone seat for it sense of place, and the rooftops of #742/2 for their colour in this light and snow.

Winter is certainly a difficult time to find the PROPER inspiration, and I must therefore rely on good family-members like you to find it.
