Nice pictures... I should be making more bike trips through the summer as well (I hope).

I hope Dane got to see this link... I saw it in the local paper too, and as soon as I had seen it, I thought about Dane and his post about the bridge / road repair in his area of the world.

        Trondheim today

The sisters Trollfjord and Midnatsol at berth.

Midnatsol about to sail and give room to :

        The R/Y Norge.
The Grand Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg and the King and Queen of Norway is in town.

R/Y Norge in a spotlight of sun in between the dark clouds.

        Must add this hopeless shot:
The stern of Norge, Midnatsol and Costa Deliziosa approaching in the distance. (More of her later)

I'll leave the "whole ship" photos to the professionals and the cruise ship thread.
Some from today's visit of the Costa Deliziosa:

Wonder if J-O is watching from one of the distant ferries ?

The port mooring boat racing for the first ropes.

            Today assisted by M/K Vesle.

            First stern springline being run.

Some problems for the little one with old "dunk-dunk"-machinery, strong current and propeller wash from Deliziosa.

              A Royal visit

The Royalties from Luxembourg had expressed a wish to visit the Rock museum. Unfortunately shielded by security people and crowd, so no picture of them.

The Norwegian royal couple made a visit to Ravnkloa and were served sea food:

Discussing the recipe with the chef ?

The return to the royal yacht were made by boat.

The hosts lined up to say farewell.

My last event of yesterday was to watch some helicopter cargo lifting.
Unfortunately it started to rain, so the pictures became rather dull.

Helitrans' Bell 214B Big Lifter LN-OPO:

A few more will be posted in the helicopter thread.

                  Re: This is Trondheim

Delighted to see all these recent and very news-worthy posts and pictures Nichu. Such a good photo of the Royal Yacht with that combination of dark clouds and bright sun. And I love the one’s of huge Costa Deliziosa and little Vesle.
You patience was rewarded with those close up photos of the Royals at Ravnkloa!
And having enjoyed my trip with Helitrans so much last year, I was pleased to see they featured in the proceedings.

Police - like you seldom see them

First : thank you for the nice comments to my earlier posts.

Trondheim is this weekend host city to the annual Police music festival.
Brass bands, Rock bands and choirs from all over the country gathered.

After a parade, the different groups held concerts several places in town.
                      This is from Solsiden.

                      Performing "Mustang Sally".
Not sure of who, but could be "Lovens lange arm" or "Follo politidistrikts Blues band".

Munkhholmbåten with few passengers this morning.
A lousy weather outlook probably the reason.

(An artificial beach is planned in the area in left background.
Could be a nice place for a picnic and watching ships.)

I wonder, I wonder.... did you have any other shots from this exact time?

Korsfjord is right behind the stern of NORGE, just about to sail into your view.... as I sailed passed the coastal steamer and turned 180 degrees right off the stern of Norge, just a few minutes later....
