This building is called "Gløshaugen Østre", and is located next to the university at Gløshaugen. It was built in 1872 as a summer residence for "kjøpmann" (shopkeeper) Halvor Jenssen. The architect is believed to be Heinrich Ernst Schirmer.

From 1901 to 1957 the house was used as municipal residence, and thereafter it became a part of NTNU (Norges Technical University) property.

An everyday part of you I know, but I’m feeling quite pulled apart between the draw of the far east and that of the north this morning. This season, and moods and feelings I get at this time of the year have something to do with it too.
And there are reminders here on CV, both in the threads I’ve just been looking at and in the photos on my “to do” list for preparing and posting. And journeys I’ve made and one I didn’t – so thank you so much, very very much, for these images of autumn in Trondheim.

Havstein #305 –now there’s a viewpoint new to me (haven’t explored beyond “my” bridge behind the hospital).

But Skansen – I was there this summer, and the photos are indeed high on the “waiting to appear in Seagull’s Trondheim thread”, now that I have completed the 24th July.

But it was your blue image which has brought me calm and a balance regained. As I scrolled and saw it, I immediately thought to myself “I’ll ask pakarang if he might allow me to have it on my computer” – even before reading of your own plans for it.

No, don’t say I can right away. But just maybe on November 22nd.
I’m really going to need incentive, and encouragement, between now and then.

Thank you so very much for your comments Lady C.

I try, but I still feel I have a long way to go to reach the kind of quality that you produce with your camera (even though it is a NIKON)...

This claw is massive indeed, but we have spent many, many minutes looking at them digging at the bottom, and the extremely tiny amount of rocks they have picked up is astonishing. Not even one truck load during the two weeks I watched them last time on board. You could fill a coffee cub each time they dug.!

I agree!!!! I thing that makes it so perfect is the one leaf on the right that makes it not a perfect mirror image! That would be absolutely stunning as a one by two meter canvas! Totally the focal piece of a whole room!

I'm also drawn to the ripple effect in the upper right corner... I just love the way this image turned out.

I like that the ripple is subtly through the whole image! And the blues and the black contrast....
