                Cecilia's bridge

In her thread about the helicopter trip, Seagull mentioned this bridge.
(I belive that there has been pictures of it before?)

Should have waited until dusk with taking pictures, as when lit and with reflections from the river it is much more beautiful.

Do you wonder what that strange thing at the far end is:

                It is a "musical" sculpture.
Computercontrolled waterjets are aimed at the drumlike center,
and play rhytms - not music really.
Unfortunately (but understandably) it has been switched off after complaints from the patients in the Hospital.

Today "Talerøret" was officially handed over to the city of Trondheim from the NTNU as gift at this university's 100 years celebrations.

Attended by Norways Prime Minister and others.

After this event, several ministers went by helicopters to the island of Frøya.

The Prime minister to the left, with red tie.

The former Transportation minister Signe N. used the same helicopter as Seagull on her sightseeing flight:

                    Airborne:

TV was there, and so was Nichu.
(a couple more pictures in the helicopter thread)

That’s the second time today I reckoned that five or so cool smilies says it all!
Great to see these photos Nichu.

I like how the wind blows around Navarsete these days...

I saw the helicopters from Ladestien... she passed above my head.

                          Nidelven Båtræs

Nidelva, although not as mighty as the Mississippi, is an important part of Trondheim.

Today was the day for the annual Boat Race for children.
Home made craft of different shapes and colours participate.

The race has just begun, started from the bridge in the background.

One competitor eagerly waiting for his boat to pass.

With a light breeze from behind, baloons act as sails.

                          A couple of the boats:

Half way through, and the main armada seems to be somewhat entangled.

                          Approaching the finish line.

And here my batteries went flat.

The coming Saturday is the date for another competiton.
Crossing the river in bathtubs, or rafts.
In the last category, the winner will be the most elaborate one to make it across.
