I often go for your inventive wide angle shots, but in this case I prefer the first as having more impact –probably even more so for you having caught the figure striding purposefully across the bridge.

Thank you so much, I still can't say which one I prefer...

I forgot to share the image of this vessel at the Nidelven today: Brakar:

I think I like the second composition best, it is a better angle and also shows the construction of the bridge better

What are the 'tripods' on the right for? is there shallow water around the bridge or is it just to protect the bridge from sea traffic?

Of the two bridge ones..I like the first--same reasons as Seagull. The person grabs attention and pulls you in.....

I agree on that one. But; if I were in the same position and should take a picture, I'm convinsed I would've taken a picture just like the second one

And Munkholmen reminds me of Alcatraz

The day before yesterday I was taking some photos of the fog(!) for 365. I found a footpath with trees and lamp-posts, but just missed catching the outline of a figure in the far distance. Having seen that such a figure was the finishing touch to the image, I was dissatisfied with the figureless versions, and hung around for ages hoping that someone else would appear. Then the equal frustration of suddenly too many people appearing all at once . . . made me think of your bridge photos pakarang, and I am wondering if you had noticed the effect of people passing on the bridge and waited for the moment, maybe several attempts as people passed –or did you just happen to catch that figure at your first attempt with the close-in viewpoint?

Sterkoder, I have a “thing” for Munkholmen, it just draws me, fascinates me in all weather and lighting conditions, and from all viewpoints (including the deck of a hurtigrute, naturally!). I used to imagine my own little islands like that when I was a child, and make maps, name features, and draw pictures of them. I have still to set foot on Munkholmen, and when I next visit Trondheim at the appropriate season, such an excursion has top priority (–even before the J-O trail! )

Thank you all for the comments and for helping me understand a bit more when there is several similar looking images to choose from.

And Sterkoder, if and when you make it to Trondheim, we shall make an excursion to Alcatraz (naturally, within the summer season)!

What's your working schedule next week and in the Easter holiday...?

Yes, I guess Munkholmen has to wait until the summer. I'm not a very big fan of sunbathing and unwrapping myself on beaches, so let us find a normal not too hot summer day
