A little avalanche and a bit of snow in the hair is nothing new for those living along Hjorundfjorden:

Have you ever heard of Hessie, the Sea Serpent seen in Hessafjorden in June 1999??
Not me either, but I came across this article by accident:
https://books.google.no/books?id=z9g...C3%A6r&f=false
Apparently another sighting was made in 2001, this time in Storfjorden, on the opposite side of Sula.
A bit of search only turned up this article:
http://s8int.com/dino26.html
I could not find anything about the news in NRK.

Easter is when Norwegians who haven't had enough of snow and ice during the winter head for the mountains to look for more. (Those who have head for "Syden")
Here in Sunnmore it has been cold clear weather during Easter so far. Here are some pictures from smp.no to prove it:

Personally I haven't had skis on my feet for 50 years, so I stay in town.

Hjorundfjorden looks like Greenland after avalanche:

Here is a video of the avalanche taken from a boat in the fjord:

A new attraction is coming soon. This former ferry will be operating in Hjorundfjorden both summers and winters:
Nice name. I served on another vessel called Slogen, but that was in 1967 and not in Hjorundfjorden.
Don't know if this will work, or translate well:

Nice looking veteran ship - I find it really great that people still like to operate vessels like these in Norwegian waters. It keeps our fjords special and alive, for sure. With best regards from Jan-Olav Storli

Hjorundfjorden is gaining in popularity and someone take their sweet time to enjoy it. Departed Ulsteinvik 30.12.2017 with ETA Norangsfjorden 02.06.2018:
https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais...vessel:CELAVIE
That give an average speed of approx. 0.016 kts. Enough time to take in the sights? (Still there)
PS> I didn't even know that it was possible to have AIS in a kayak.

One more boat for Hjorundfjorden and beyond (but not too far away).
Kjell "Kjellen" Biggset has become Shipowner, or at least part-owner, in a veteran boat that will be used as a Show Boat around the fjords in Sunnmore:
https://www.smp.no/nyheter/2018/06/0...e-16830098.ece
He had plans to build a new boat but this will be first step.
