Reference to Post #29; there is a lot of juvenile herring in the fjords now, which obviously attract predators, large and small: http://www.smp.no/nyheter/indre/article9952117.ece

More on the whales in Storfjorden: http://www.smp.no/nyheter/indre/article9954105.ece

The film about what MAY happen if and when a large chunk of a mountain falls into Storfjorden is now under production and the trailer has been published: http://www.smp.no/kultur/article10146534.ece

It is obviously not reality, but the fact that Aakernesrenna will one day fall into the fjord is real.
        The BIG question is; WHEN??

Here is one imaginary take on when and how: http://oddvinvedo.wordpress.com/2011...t-kan-skje-pa/
(Hope Google translate can handle this reasonably well)

Not easy to be a truck driver in Sunnmore at this time of the year: http://www.smp.no/nyheter/article10642432.ece
I know, one of our sons make his living from driving trucks in the area.

Sunnmore is becoming more and more popular for film makers around the world. Here is an article in The Independent about the movie "ex-Machina" shot in Valldal, which made one of their reporters travel there to see the scenery by herself: http://www.independent.co.uk/travel/...-10018274.html

Here is trailer for another movie shot in Sunnmore, which is said to make waves in the film world: http://www.smp.no/kultur/article10687822.ece

As well as an episode of a German TV series apparently called; Under the Ice, but I can find nothing more on that one.

Nice when you can sit and watch it from the safety and comfort of you own home: http://www.smp.no/nyheter/soere/article10792072.ece

PS> Doesn't look like much snow on the mountains this winter. None below maybe 4-500 m. in this video.

Not all from Sunnmore, but at least it is a Sunnmoring who made this cavalcade with no subject and no text to tell where he is, but I suspect that there are several CVF members who can recognize at least some of the locations?? : https://vimeo.com/115604947

Not actually from Sunnmore but from Sogndal. (Near enough)
I decided to put this here because we have had similar videos on this thread earlier and it is from smp.no: http://www.smp.no/nyheter/article10828762.ece
Nut cases, if you ask me. You can see how they start small avalanches all the time. It is a matter of time before they release a big one that kill other people, never mind themselves.

Fosnavaag was featured in the Offshore Vessel thread yesterday. Here is another view of this small but rich town in Sunnmore: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRlbbk-a9SU

The facts about Fosnavaag is quite amazing. It has a population of only 3,500 people, but it is the "home port" for a large fleet of Offshore Vessels, owned by companies headquartered there and operating world wide: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fosnav%C3%A5g
In addition a fleet of large modern Fishing vessels are owned and operated from Fosnavaag as well as seafood processor Fosnavaag Seafood and several shipping related companies.

ABS's Quarterly Magazine for Summer 2013 has a detailed article about Fosnavaag, as well as other Norwegian related articles: http://www.eagle.org/eagleExternalPo...yor_Summer2013
