    Harro ! Greetings to everyone.

Sorry I write something here, instead post posting "properly". New to this stuff.
I ask about the well-known webcam of Geirangerfjord harbour. For years, it was the main source of dramatic pictures of cruise ships ( and the daily Hurtigrute ) coming and going.
I too, have been taking views of the harbour, last being the almost arctic conditions earlier this January (2016).
Today ( 23 Apr 2016 ) the Geiranger harbour main web cam is pointing at the least photogenic spot of the quayside.
No more pictures of arriving ships, unless one monitor the "geirangergrande" view together with a real-time track of marinetraffic's site.

Is this a commercial decision to point the camera away from the harbour entrance or is the camera undergoing routine maintenance ? anyone hazard an opinion ?

Hope there is enough of Geirangergjord fans around here !

    Regards,
    mike.

Thank you. I have since gone back to the webpage of GeirangerHavn and they now show a full streaming video of the harbour !

This is going even one better than the previous offering of one refresh every minute.

I hope a program like VLC can copy the you-tube video .... then we can get real video of the incoming Hurtigrute !
    Exciting times ahead.

    mike.

Geiranger already has a Sea Walk. Now they also have a Sky Walk at top of Dalsnibba: http://www.smp.no/nyheter/2016/08/27..._click_place=5

Who is Who in Geiranger: http://www.smp.no/nyheter/indre/2016...ick_articles=3

I would think that the mix of nationalities on any given day is dependent of which Cruise ship(s) are in port,
Lots of Pinoys using their phone while visiting Geiranger. Probably not too many are tourists, more likely crew on the Cruise ships.

              Very nice video!

As he says: 4 meters of snow this year as opposed to 1,5 last year ..... I knew the real winter was hiding somewhere else.

There are also more "traditional" avalanches in Geiranger, much to the delight of Chinese early visitors: http://www.smp.no/nyheter/2017/05/13...ick_articles=3

I have checked the ones I have posted about Geiranger and none of them are requiring account as far as I can see.
Anybody else have problems opening the links to smp.no??

OOOPs I have to upgrade my understanding of what they are allowing free access to and what not. + is supposed to mean account only. I did not see any + on these articles.

Confirmed! Also the German can read it now, even in ireland. Thank you so much. Interesting information for our pre-planning north cape trip 2018 with our campervan! Must count that in, if travelling again in pre-season.
