Finally, the pace in Gerianger changes... people, hoards of people, are now gone, and so are the guest workers as well...the locals must love getting their place "back" again.

Brrrr.... that looks very different from the summer view.

Will be very hard to light the BBQ and set up the tent will be a very cold experience now.

Not much happening in Geiranger at this time of the year. (If anything happens it is usually not very good)
The road across the mountains to Stryn and places East is not kept open, but the road to/from Eidsdal is normally open year around.
Many CVF members has taken this road during summer. Do you fancy driving here when covered in snow and ice?

Here is a video from a trip with a Tollpost truck down Orneveien (The Eagl's Road) in the dead of winter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnBEoOxPH8M

PS> One of our sons is driving trucks for the Post (with hanger) I wonder who has the most dangerous job, he or his two Brothers who has served in Afghanistan for much of the last 6-7 years??

Is that a very calm fjord, or is it ice????

From the pier it looks like this:

For good measure, here is Hellesylt today:

In a few months the place will be busy again, with Cruise ships nearly every day.
The season starts with Vision of the Seas and MSC Musica on 07. May and ends with Albatross on 24. Sept.
