  • Giant Pipes Manufactured in Norway

First reported 10 August 2017, two giant plastic pipes have washed up on beaches in the county of Norfolk, England.

Apparantly, the pipes were part of a larger consignment, some 12 of which broke free after being hit by a container ship while under tow to Algeria.

    The dimensions are impressive:

    Diameter: 2.4 m
    Length: up to 480 m !!!

Images show considerable damage and we understand that that (some/all?) will be towed back to the manufacturer in Norway.

Wow ! Thanks for posting these links Clipper. I'd noticed something about this but have only just realised the SIZE ...and the Norway connection.

      480m long! That's a lot of pipe.
      Cheers,
