This project looks very promising, I had been living in Trondheim, this could perhaps have been something if my wallet had been agreed with me.
      Looks really great.
      Best wishes from

I agree... Grillstad Marina is a project which looks like it's going to turn out really well...

I wouldn't mind any of the apartments there. It's like our own Dubai-project.

Another new residential project at Ranehim, with prices that are not in the category as low:

New very tall hotel planned being raised at Lerkendal in Trondheim:

            http://www.adressa.no/nyheter/okonom...cle1601782.ece

Photos from Rosenborg Eiendom (Rosenbogr Prpoperty).

            My immediate reaction?

            YES!

Finally, we get some really interesting desgin-buildings in Trondheim too! Finally! Bless the architects of Rosenborg Eiendom, and bless them for wanting to rise this beauty!

Not sure which one you mean, but both Grillstad Marine-project and the Ranheimsfjæra-project is starting somewhere around 2,5 million NOK for a tiny one bedroom apartment of about 30-40 square meters. With other words, really highly priced.

The biggest problem here in Trondheim right now is that while the population grew with some 12500 people last year, only a handful of new houses and apartments were completed and sold. There is no word on how many left the city, but it is really clear that there is a draught in the area of new developments.

As soon as this wonderful new high-rise is announced, another wing of the political scene is ready to shoot it down and request it never built:

                  http://www.adressa.no/nyheter/okonom...cle1602432.ece

This guy is a member of the Political Party "De Grønne" (literally The Green) and strongly opposes the construction and building of the new hotel in that location.

He will off course request the other politicians to stop this project right away.

                    I meant the Grillstad apartments...

                    This got me thinking....
Converting Kroner into Dollars.....Those apartments are running about $US 460.000--

Now in most of the US, "normal folks" can't afford housing like that. Locally- I could buy a brand new, well built 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom house --complete with kitchen appliances, granite countertops, hardwood floors, well insulated, airconditioning, etc etc....about 200 square meters on half a hectare of land including garage for $US100.000 (or about NOK570.000)

I am assuming (and you know what happens when one assumes....) that those 12.500 new residents of Trondheim are not all rockstars and millionaires...so what do "real" people live in?????

That is my question too, and a very valid one as well...

When talking about normal average people, there is also me in that group. I fear having to pay such a high price to call something my own home.

                              Maybe....

They also plan to build a Trondheim Tower now in the port area... at the site of the Pierhuset:

                              http://www.adressa.no/nyheter/trondh...cle1628938.ece

The environmental party "De Grønne" naturally is complaining their throats off.... they do not want any thing new in town, and no new projects should be constructed...

Doesn't matter if the population of Trondheim have a need for some 40.000 homes in the immediate future, a lack of hotel rooms... they do make me so frustrated by their limited future visions.
