    http://captainsvoyage.7.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=515

Continuing from our old forum the thread containing pictures, info and other things about Kristiansund.

Shot a couple of pictures in Vågen and from Varden today.
Here's one from Varden, with Freikollen (629 m.) nearest and Reinsfjell (920 m.) covered in snow in the background

Another one from Varden overlooking the harbour and city towards south-east

Here's one from Vågen, with the pilot-boat in the foreground

Good to see you had the same great weather as we had a little bit further north of you today!

Yes...., and I can't wait until we get longer days with good daylight for photografy.
I only wish I could have a new camera with a good lence as photografy has become more and more interesting. Not only taking pictures in a hurry, but composing and looking for small details to take pictures of and make the picture near to perfect in the seeker before I press the button....
What satisfy me most is when I've taken picture of a detail in Kristiansund, and people who have lived here all their lives say: -"Is this really here in Kristiansund...? Nooooooooo...!!!!".

I guess we who use a camera and draw drawings for that matter, see things in another way, we can spot details nobody else can ever see if they try ever so hard....

Much of the interest for photografy I can track back to forums, with two in particular: CAPTAINSVOYAGE and Norsk Skipsfarts Forum...., so thank you to all of you who comment on pictures and support spotters in their work every day...., thank you!!!!

Happy newyear from Kristiansund. As we now have a ban against rockets here in Norway (yes, it's true), this picture is from last year.

Hey, Eliszabeth and you others out there holding the fort of the CV-dept. West, we just moved into 2009 here, and I belive you still got about 6 hours left of 2008 yet. I can tell you, so far 2009 is a great year!"!!

This image is taken by a friend of mine from the island Frei south of Kristiansund, and you can see the city towards north-west, with the offshore servicebase Vestbase in the foreground, and the supplyvessel "Viking Queen" at dock.

Godt Nyttår to our European siblings from the CV West branch of the family (Dane, including you in on this one!!) Now if Jan-Olav would ever stop playing around and get that time machine/transporter fixed, we could pop over to celebrate BOTH times!!!!!

2009 is going to be a FABULOUS year for ALL OF US!!!

You know, Freikollen...., the city mountain so to speak, of 629 meters (ref. picture one further up here) looks this way from the other side in beautiful sunshine....

But remember, as I belive I mentioned in a PM, that E-39 from Fannrem to Halsa is closed at Enge/Rodal and will only be opened for local traffic.

Monday, tuesday and thursday might be suitable for a mug of coffee...
But send me an sms, there might be changes..., and in any way; welcome to Kr-sund, The Pearl of Nordmøre...

These images will hopefully be of entertainment particularly for Sterkoder, but I hope all of you will enjoy seeing these images taken two weeks ago whilst I was on my west coast trip:

Starting with Vikaneset Ocean Hotel at Frei just outside the town:

From the narrow and winding road leading to the Ocean Hotel at Vikaneset, there was some spectacular views to be taken in:
