Another new attraction in Aalesund will be a look-out point at the 94 m. level above MSL on the way up or down the steps to Fjellstua. (Refr. Post # 728):

If they can build a large wooden boat in Kristiansund then they can in Aalesund as well: http://www.smp.no/incoming/article10015091.ece

You can even follow the progress directly from anywhere in the world here: http://kamera.smp.no/services/kamera...bmenu=3&type=1

Fact checking is not a high priority on smp.no apparently.
Here is a picture from the article:

The text under this picture reads like this; "Bankskøyter liggende i Ålesundet, dagens Brosund. Devoldbrygga (dagens Brosundet hotell) til høyre i bildet. FOTO: DIGITALMUSEUM.NO"

The picture is obviously from before the big fire in 1904 when all the buildings seen here burnt down. None is thus today's Brosundet hotel

Sad news for those who like to take the steps to/from Fjellstua: http://www.smp.no/nyheter/alesundogo...le10016321.ece
But new and improved steps will be there sometime in the future. I.A.

Meanwhile there are alternatives. (See posts 446 & 461)

My thoughts to; looks like ants building their nest.
All this so they can burn it down in few hours.
