Great photography... looks like these images were taken in the middle of the summer, not in the middle of September.

Beautiful day, beautiful motifs and well executed!

Back home in Singapore but still a few more pictures from Aalesund during the last two weeks to post.

First a house that has been shown here before:

Still with and abundance of flowers, front and back:

These dominated at this time of the year:

As did this row of garages along Norvegata:

Speaking of Norvegata, here is proof that Aalesund is "more" than just Jugend houses:

And more blocks of flats in Voldsdalen:

Aalesund city limit in 1882 was just after the old Hospital, at the appropriately named Sykehusgata:

The original city limit from 1848 was at the equally appropriately named Grensegata, which was featured in an earlier post here.

Modern flats with an unobstructed view of fjords and mountains:

Situated at Meierikaia (or Blixvalen for the older generation)

Here is the view from ground floor level towards the Sunnmore alps with a fresh dusting of snow over abt. 1000 m.:

Another view of the "Raadhus" and the new facade:

Comments are invited as to whether this is much of an improvement over the old facade. (Is it still the second ugliest public building in Norway??)

Here is one more that breaks with the Jugend style of down town Aalesund:

Also shown earlier in this thread and also for comments.

Let me show you the main feature of Aalesund, Brosundet, or Aalesundet, as it look from the water.

First a picture of the Southern end with Hellebroa as seen from the Cruise Terminal:

                                This one from dry land.

And than Hellebroa from the other side:

                                Heading North, facing South:
