And a perfectly legal place, much closer, is the old control tower cabin on top of the aviation museum.
That gives superb pictures from the approach/take-off, landing, taxi and park.

    Great photo though!!!
The hill was unfortunately fenced in this winter due to new NATO requirements and the fence is littered with signs like that one i have in my avatar.
The museum control tower is of course a nice place but the problem there is the cost and the fact that you will be shooting through triple glazed windows.

I`m gonna pay the military security guys a visit when i get time and ask them directly what the do`s and don`t really are.

    Thanks for the comment btw!

      Stupid question:
Is the security "paranoia" at Bodø Airport one of the reasons that the top floor restaurant of the airport building were closed several years ago...?
The view from the window tables there were unlimited

Looks like our spam filter once again is doing a VERY good job here... you may need to write the word c0ckpit in that link behind 777 instead of using a 0.

The small Norwegian company - Vestlandske Luftfartsselskap - also known as West Norway Airlines, had two Walruses.

LN-TAK x G-AHFL from March 1949 until it crashed near Odda in August.
LN-SUK x G-AJJC from September 1949 to January 1953, when the CofA expired.

This company also operated Republic Seabees, Short Sealands and a DH Heron.

These are scans from my late fathers negatives. He spent his life in aviation from the UK to NZ.

Talking about LN reg, here's a Norwegian DC4 (OR 6) in Karachi 5 Jun 1950.

He (my father) wrote on aviation quite a bit, if you're interested.

Before anything else... a very warm welcome on board to our friendly family here.... so honored and glad you have chose to become a part of our friendly family.

Then, interesting image the one above... I cane see it's an aircraft from what would become BRAATHENS SAFE of Norway. On the aircraft, we can see the logo and the inscription South America and Far East (later shortened to SAFE).

I wonder if this stop in Karachi was on the way from a much longer flight, to for example Bangkok and other SE Asian destinations?
