Oh Ivy! You have photographed one of my all time favourite aircraft the Gloster Javelin, it has the honour of being the last aircraft to carry the Gloster name.
And what a beauty she is!! She served with 23 & 60 squadrons after delivery in 1960.
Not only that but the De Haviland Sea Vixen, a truly brilliant carrier based aircraft! Although if you notice, the c0ckpit is slightly off line to fit the observer in the fuselage.
Two great ground breaking British thoroughbreds!
Lovely photos Ivy!!!!
Infamy, Infamy.... They've got it in for me! Said The Laughing Assassin.
That tail plane just fascinated me on the Gloster Javelin, Paul. I took several photos from the rear but standing further back than the one shown here and I just dared the sun to ruin the shot for it was right in my eyes over the top of the tail. It flared, but not badly and I still like the photos!
